报告摘要:

The concept of resilience has its roots in a multitude of disciplines, from ecology to social sciences, psychology, and economics. Despite the rich history of the resilience concept, engineering resilience is still in its infancy. There is a growing interest to understand better and improve the resilience performance of engineering systems. This demands more reliable and widely accepted methods of measuring, assessing, and monitoring resilience. In the past decade, few definitions and frameworks for resilience quantification were proposed. However, most of these methods serve a specific application.  This talk provide a fresh look at definitions of resilience and its measurement. It introduces a metrics based on the concept of reliability and maintainability combined with the system modeling approach. Different applicants of resilience engineering concepts are also discussed.

韧性的概念根植于众多学科之中,从生态学到社会科学、心理学和经济学。尽管韧性的概念由来已久,但工程韧性的相关研究仍处于起步阶段。人们对更好地理解和提高工程系统的韧性越来越感兴趣,这也加剧了关于更加可靠和被广泛接受的测量、评估以及韧性监测的方法的需求。在过去的十年里,学者们提出了一些关于韧性量化的定义和框架,然而,这些方法大多用于特定的使用。本次讲座对韧性的定义及其测量进行了重新审视,结合系统建模的方法介绍了一个基于可靠性和可维护性概念的衡量标准,此外Faisal Khan 教授还将对韧性工程概念的不同应用进行讨论。

  

报告人简介:

Faisal Khan is a Professor of TEXAS A&M UNIVERSITY (Served as associate Dean of Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science, and a Director of Centre for Risk,Integrity and Safety Engineering, at Memorial University ofNewfoundland, Canada).And he is also the Canada Research Chair Tier I of Offshore Safety and Risk Engineering. Process Safety Center (MKOPSC)He is the Editor-in-Chief to Journal of Process Safety and Environmental Protection. He regularly offers training programs/workshops on safety and risk engineering in different places including St John's, Tehran, Dubai, Beijing, Aberdeen, Doha, and Kuala Lumpur. He is an internationally renowned expert in the field of process safety. His areas of research interest include: safety and risk engineering, inherent safety, risk management, and risk-based integrity assessment and management. He has authored over 400 research articles in peer reviewed journals and conferences on safety, risk and reliability engineering.

Faisal Khan是德克萨斯农工大学教授(曾任加拿大纽芬兰纪念大学教授,工程和应用科学学院副院长,以及风险、完整性和安全工程中心的主任),目前担任过程安全领域权威期刊《Process Safety and Environmental Protection》主编,与多个国际油气公司在安全工程方向联系紧密,为圣约翰斯、迪拜、德黑兰、北京、多哈等城市提供安全工程培训项目。Faisal Khan教授也是过程工业安全研究领域的国际知名专家,研究领域包括安全工程以及风险管理的理论和应用,主要从事安全工程、本质安全、风险管理、基于风险的评价管理体系等,在安全、风险和可靠性工程的相关期刊和会议上发表了400多篇高水平研究论文。
